Sara Rutter
Sara Rutter, LLMSW, earned her graduate degree from the University of Michigan. She brings a wealth of knowledge, skills and support, combining life and clinical experiences, treating depression and mood disorders, anxiety and stress, grief, major life transitions and more. Her rich experiences working in a variety of settings and roles, from an academic librarian to a laboratory assistant in plant science, as well as counselor, provide for a unique understanding of work challenges spanning across disciplines.
Sara brings a research background to her therapy practice. Her unwavering commitment to curiosity, deep compassion and presence across the presenting concerns she treats, including existential concerns and despair are transformative.
Sara’s clinical work is informed by cognitive behavioral therapies, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT), and trauma-informed therapy.
In her personal life, Sara loves plants, animals, baking, running (a little), spending time with family and friends, and reading widely.
